Patty is a strong advocate for communication for the worldwide initiative of sustainability. So much so that she had her own radio show and hosted sustainability topics for the Spanish speaking audience of southern California. She collaborated with a well known TV personality and they created the radio show Temas Verdes. This facilitated Patty a platform to inform the Spanish speaking audience with sustainability tips on their everyday living. Patty has also had public speaking requests at UCLA, USC, CSUN, CSUSB, Garfield High, and Harmony Elementary. She was also interviewed by El Segundo cable television on the Water Hero Program.
About Patty
Patty Menjivar, LEED AP, is a Sustainability Consultant for A SustainAble Production, LLC (ASAP). She has over 15 years of experience in sustainability, green event planning, and environmental compliance. Patty has worked extensively with the USGBC’s various LEED rating systems, the Air Quality Management District emissions program, the California Air Resources Board, the Department of Sanitation waste minimization programs, the Carbon Disclosure Project, the Regional Water Quality Control Board, and organized events with sustainability in mind for more than 5000 attendees.
Patty brings true passion and commitment to sustainability. Specifically, she led waste minimization programs for Fortune 500 companies. This includes a zero waste campaign, the campaign elements involved collaboration of executives, employees, vendors, and the internal communication department. This zero waste campaign success involves development of online tools, training sessions, cost benefit analysis for the business, and vendor support. In the climate change realm, Patty managed GHG reporting and reduction teams for business across the nation. Her project management skills has given her the ability to develop and complete deliverables by desired goal date. Patty’s professional experience has given her the expertise to develop strategies that give business a cutting edge. She develops online tools, software programs, communication collateral, and her knowledge on the pulse of what is the best way to hit a campaign successfully and on target with the business case.
Patty received a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering and Chemistry from USC and a Masters in Environmental Health Science from UCLA.
