Fertilizer Types

We all know fertilizing is essential for indoor and outdoor plants alike to properly grow.There are many different types of fertilizers to choose from.

A homogenous fertilizer is normally a granular type that is artificially synthesized. It can act immediately when introduced to plants, which may damage burn and damage, or a homogeneous fertilizer is slow release formulated to breakdown slowly depending on sunlight, heat and moisture.

Water soluble and liquid fertilizers are used frequently as a foliar spray or with normal watering. Plants can rarely O.D. from water soluble and liquid fertilizers - but they can be expensive.

Organic fertilizers come from some of our furry and feathered friends like: steer manure, bat guano, duck dung - there's even something called zoo doo - don't you just love America?

Anyway, animal manures are slow to work, smell real bad, may contain harmful salts -- but, the price is usually livable.
