Sprinkler Valves

If it's about time to fire-up your sprinkler system again from its winter slumber, it's not a bad idea to give it a little attention before you notice plants dying left and right.

Whether it's an automatic or manual system, turn it on at the valve. Pay special attention to the valve for any leaks. If it does leak, you may want to consider changing the washers and diaphragm with what is called a "valve kit".

You'll need to turn off your water supply at the street, then brush off debris then unscrew. Clean off the stainless steel parts with vinegar, replace all rubber parts and screw all together.

Do this to all of your sprinkler valves. This way they'll operate smoothly saving you money in the long run.
