Beneficial Nematodes

What do fleas, cutworms, grubs and cucumber beetles have in common? They all begin their lives in your garden.

These pests all begin their lives in a larval stage, in your soil, before becoming destructive adults. This makes 'em vulnerable to attack from beneficial nematodes.

A nematode is nearly microscopic organism which munches down on the larvae of other insects and roots of plants. However, there is a strain of nematodes that won't hurt the roots of your plants but will wipe out colonies of the bad guys - including nematodes that can damage your plants.

These voracious critters can be found at your local nursery or garden center. When you pick up the box it'll seem kind of empty but don't worry, inside are millions of beneficial nematodes laying dormant embedded in water soluble wax on a plastic card waiting for you to let 'em loose through your hose end sprayer.
